If you’ve ever stepped into an Irish pub and felt the atmosphere buzzing with music, laughter, and clapping hands, then you know what the craic is. But for those not familiar with this quintessentially Irish expression: What’s the Craic? roughly translates to What’s going on?, How’s it going?, or simply What’s happening?. In the world of The Paps, Pints & Poems, everything revolves around the craic – a combination of great music, an amazing atmosphere, and an audience that participates as much as the band itself.

What makes Irish folk so special?

Irish folk is more than just music – it’s an experience. The songs tell stories of love, loss, adventure, and of course, a good pint at the pub. Songs like Whiskey in the Jar, The Irish Rover, and Drunken Sailor aren’t just classics, they’re instant mood setters. They bring people together, make them sing and dance as if they were right in the heart of Dublin, even if they’re in a Dutch pub or festival field.

With The Paps, you feel that energy in every song they play. With a lineup of bouzouki/mandolin, semi-acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and drums/bodhrán, they bring traditional Irish sounds to life with a raw edge that’s perfect for a night full of music and fun.

The audience makes the party

What makes The Paps unique is not only their music but also their interaction with the audience. A great performance isn’t just about what happens on stage – the audience is just as important. Everyone knows that moment when the first chords of The Wild Rover start playing, and the whole crowd sings along at the top of their lungs. Or when the rhythm of Tell Me Ma kicks in, and no one can stand still.

Whether you’re a seasoned folk fan or just love a night of music and good vibes, The Paps knows how to rock the house.

Music, pints, and unforgettable moments

A performance by The Paps, Pints & Poems is more than just a concert – it’s a party that transports you to the atmosphere of a real Irish pub. It’s not just about the music, it’s about the experience: a pint in hand, friends around you, and a band playing like their life depends on it. That’s the craic at its best.
