The Paps, Pints & Poems – Irish Folk Rock with a Raw Edge

If you love rousing rhythms, compelling melodies, and a hefty dose of Irish energy, then you’re in the right place with The Paps, Pints & Poems. This band from the north of the Netherlands brings an explosive mix of traditional Irish folk, uplifting pub songs, and powerful folk rock. The Paps’ music draws from traditional Irish folk, but with a raw and energetic edge. Well-known songs like The Wild Rover, Whiskey in the Jar, and The Irish Rover are of course part of the show, but also expect heavier folk rock like The Pogues, Dropkick Murphys, and Flogging Molly.

With bouzouki/mandolin, semi-acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and drums/bodhrán, these experienced musicians create a sound that is both authentic and compelling. Sometimes raw and rebellious, sometimes melancholic and heartfelt – just like Irish music is meant to be.
